Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What is your process of book cover design?

After making a payment, you need to fill in the cover design brief. If we have any additional questions, our managers will contact you for clarification. You’ll receive your book cover within 1-3 days (depending on your package). We offer an unlimited number of free revisions and a 100% refund if you are not satisfied with the result.

What stock photos do you for your book cover design?

We create book cover designs using only licensed, royalty-free stock images, mostly from DepositPhotos.

How do you prove that all stock photos you use are licensed?

Once the project is completed, we send our clients a document with all the source links and license details about images and fonts we’ve used. We understand that most authors have a limited budget, that’s why our main goal is to help them get a cover where price, quality, and copyright intersect.

Who will design my book cover?

We have a team of in-house designers who will work on your book cover. Our main office is located in Ukraine.

What software do you use?

We use Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

Why do you keep your prices so low?

Our packages start at $5, but the average order price on our website ranges from $25 to $35. In addition, we provide custom offers for a higher price, as well as a lot of additional services. Our mission is to help authors with a limited budget and a strict deadline get the book cover design of their dreams.

Can I supply my own image for book cover design?

Yes. However, you must own the rights to use the image. Note, that we don’t work with covers designed by other freelancers or companies.

My book isn’t finished yet, can you start working on my cover?

Sure. Our team can start working on the design, and you don’t have to wait until you’ve finished writing. You don’t have to worry about the final number of pages, book size, spine length, and blurb text. We can add this information later without extra charge, even if the project is already finished.

Who owns the copyright?

GetCovers RETAINS copyright and ownership of all design and draft materials. When ordering from GetCovers, the Client is purchasing a STANDARD license that allows to:

  • Sell an unlimited number of e-books and promote the book
  • Use your print cover to sell up to 500k physical copies of books

Can you sell non-book commercial merchandise with the art?

The standard license you purchase with our book cover design packages DOESN’T include the right to sell commercial merchandise. You need to purchase an extended license in order to print your cover on t-shirts, mugs, etc.

Is there a limit to how many physical books can be sold using this art?

The license you purchase allows using your print cover to sell up to 500k physical copies of books. For books with a run of over 500,000 units, the additional license has to be purchased by the client for each stock photo that has a major role in the cover design.

What payment system do you use?

We use PayPal as a payment gateway. You can either use a PayPal account or check out as a guest with the “Pay with Debit or Credit Card option”.

After I buy the photo manipulated cover, do I own all the rights to the art? Can I use it for anything I need?

Upon receipt of full payment, GetCovers grants the client a license to use the final cover design artwork. We can’t transfer the full ownership to you, since the ownership for stock photos belongs to the photographers who took them.
